As a housewarming gift one of our cousins gave us some really cute modge-podge coasters to match our decor. LOVE THEM! So, on Christmas Eve my husband and I were trying to figure out what to give him mother. (yes, we tend to be a little last minute on gift shopping). So I decided we should make some coasters of all of us making goofy faces. Here are the supplies that I used:
- 5 tiles (or however many you want to make)
- 5 pictures for your tiles (I got 4x6 prints)
- Foam craft brushes
- Modge Podge
- Modge Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer
- Scissors
- Newspaper or paper bag to work on
- small bowl (to pour modge podge in)
- Felt circles (the small ones you put on furniture to keep it from scraping surfaces)
Steps:
- Place tiles on the back of photos and trace then cut. Do this for all of your pictures and tiles. I would recommend cutting the pictures to be a tiny bit smaller than the tile.
- Using a small foam craft brush, brush Modge Podge onto the front of the tile (where the picture will go).
- Place your picture face up on the tile and press down firmly, making sure to get rid of any air bubbles.
- Let dry.
- In a vertical pattern brush a layer of Modge Podge over each photo, let dry.
- In a horizontal pattern brush Modge Podge over each photo, let dry.
- Complete one more of each layer and let dry.
- Making sure each tile is dry take the tiles outside or somewhere where there is a lot of ventilation.
- Spray each tile with the Acrylic Sealer, first from a few inches away, then after it dries spray on another layer close up.
- You can then do what I did and apply 1-3 more layers of the Acrylic Sealer (I REALLY wanted these things to be waterproof!
- Let dry and then apply your small felt circles to the back of each coaster.
Cute faces huh?!

You must have a really awesome cousin!!
