Holy Moly! We have made it to half a year with our AMAZING son! It has been incredible. Beckett has exploded in his development. He has a new found interest in Spro.. He is always watching her and reaching for her. It is actually pretty sweet when Spro gives him kisses. She will barely stick her tongue out and is surprisingly gentle. We still keep a very close eye on her though because she seems to still think she is a 5lb lap dog and not a 90lb beast! Besides reaching for the dog Beckett reaches for EVERYTHING. Object, hand, mouth, repeat! Anything he can get his hands on he wants to put in his mouth!
He absolutely loves food. The problem.. we just can't seem to shovel it into his mouth fast enough. So far he has enjoyed bananas, green beans, sweet peas, sweet potatoes, white potatoes (not a favorite), plums, carrots, apples, pears, cantaloupe, and oatmeal. He has even started practicing putting the spoon in his mouth...not sure if he just wants to chew the spoon or actually get the food in his mouth.. regardless it's great fine motor skill development (and that's what counts right!?).
As of April 8 Beckett has started saying da-da. It is awesome! This was the first "first" of his that I was able to see. When I picked him up at daycare on Tuesday he looked at me and started saying it! So awesome, and Chad was tickled to death!
Beckett has grown so much! When he was born he had thick dark brown hair, it was adorable...
SO much hair!
Beckett's hair has gone through some changes..
First he lost it and we went through this little toupee phase..
Then we started thinning out on the sides...
And then we went through a patch-y sort of phase.. and now..
we are a blonde!

Beckett loves sitting up and playing with his toys. He has especially grown to love bath time each and every night. He still loves his jumperoo which is perfectly ok with me. We aren't mobile yet and that is ok for a few reasons:
1.) We have neither the time or money to baby-proof the house right now.
2.) We have hardwood floors throughout and I have a fear of him face planting into them.
3.) He is already pretty good at getting into everything without the ability to move around.
We are still going strong with breastfeeding with no end in sight! WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still love nursing this child and helping him stay extra healthy. My goal of making it to one year is looking good, so far! No teeth yet... I don't really know if or how that will change things but there are moms everywhere who nurse babies with teeth so I know it can be done. Hey! No one said it would be easy... only that it would be worth it.
Did I mention he loves food!?
And swinging at the park!
And the bath!
And contemplating life!
Mommy and Daddy's bed is the best!
Beware small stuffed barn animals!
He's a keeper!
He enjoys short naps in the jogging stroller too!
No words necessary...
His toes are delicious!
Such a big big boy!
Healthy baby!
He still gives me lots of baby cuddles... and I cherish every second.
At Beckett's 6 month appointment we had the following stats:
- Height: 28in, 97%
-Weight: 17lb 14.5oz, 75%
-Head circumference: 17in, 50%
(Creepy mommy)
Big boy at the doctor waiting for his shots (which he handled like a champ).
We are so very blessed to have such an amazing little boy in our lives!!
