I definitely had to go back for seconds and maybe thirds for him.. bottomless pit this child!
(whole wheat penne with cheddar and green beans)
Butter beans, broccoli, and sweet peas! He ate TWO plates of this and yogurt. You would think we starve him during the day!
Grits face!!!
Ground beef and brown rice night. Big boy!
Yogurt face! (I LOVE this little smirk he has started making all the time)
Shoveling in the goods!
When I took this I was standing in the kitchen eating tacos and he was laughing at me chewing. I guess I'm a funny eater!
Beckett isn't crawling yet. He has mastered the art of rolling to get where he wants to go. We are completely OK with this. He is the happiest baby we have ever encountered. His smile and laugh continue to melt our hearts every day. He has become quite chatty recently. He is so animated when he "talks". He also has a new found love for Spro. Every time he lays eyes on her he smiles and follows her with his eyes. He giggles when she gives him kisses. I can already tell they will be best friends! Oh yes.. I almost forgot! We have a tooth! It came in around the six month four week mark. It is so stinking cute. Ole snaggle tooth! I think the second one will be breaking through this weekend, if I had to guess! I sure do miss that gummy grin, but those baby teeth are adorable!
We are still nursing and it is going fabulous!!! I had originally wanted to do some baby sign language with Beckett and I'm not going to lie.. I got lazy and didn't really follow through. The only signs I have been consistent with are more and milk. I do the sign for milk every time before we nurse and I say "Beckett do you want milk (while doing the sign) and he smiles SO big and wiggles uncontrollably. I really do think he has made the connection there. He isn't signing it to me , but I can tell he know what it means. I haven't had much success with "more" yet. Every time I sign it and say it he just opens his mouth. Most of the time his mouth is open before I can even sign "more". I just can't feed him fast enough.
We recently got to take Beckett and Spro down to the sound so Spro could swim and Beckett could sit in the sand. This was his first time in sand, and as expected he tried to eat it! We got some cute pics though.
You'll notice in a lot of pictures he wears his sunglasses. It's interesting to me that he leaves them on. Everything else that comes near his face he tries to chew on.
Beckett has grown to enjoy bath time. He no longer uses his baby tub and is such a big boy. I had wanted to get him some bath toys and was so close to buying something fancy but instead I opted for the $5 stacking bath cups and it was an awesome decision. He is obsessed. At this point it seems he is especially drawn to the red and orange cups. He doesn't show much interest in the other colors. It is fascinating to watch him play. Chewing on the cups, banging them together, sliding them on the edge of the tub. I would love to know what he is thinking!
For some reason these last two pictures just tickle me!
OH!!! I almost forgot! Over this last month Beckett got to see Chad weigh in at a tournament. He had his first encounter with a fish and tried to grab right on to its lip! No fear! Future fisherman!!
Love them!

I love those bath pictures too! As for the signing, it really does take a solid couple of months of being consistent and persistent before you see anything obvious come of it. We almost stopped with Edward because we didn't think it was doing anything, but between 8-9 months he (and Rebekah too) was old/mature enough to make the signs and communicate. Keep it up! It is SO worth it. Makes life SO much easier when they are able to communicate with you, even just a few signs! It's also pretty super adorable.
